FAQ
How are changes from patches added?
All Tarkov-related data (tasks, items, traders, maps, hideout stations) is pulled automatically from Tarkov.dev using their GraphQL API. This integration ensures EFT Kappa stays current with game changes without requiring manual updates or app releases.
Update Frequency
EFT Kappa automatically checks for and applies updates from Tarkov.dev in the background. This means:
- No app updates required: The data refresh happens automatically
- Always current: Your app stays synchronized with Tarkov.dev data
How Tarkov.dev Gets Its Data
Tarkov.dev is a community-driven project (not an official BSG project) that aggregates Tarkov data through:
- Automated scraping - Bot systems that extract data from game files and official sources
- Community contributions - Players and contributors manually update information
- Verification processes - Community review to ensure accuracy
Update Timing:
- As a community-driven project, there is no guaranteed timeline for when updates will be available
- Updates happen on a best-effort basis by volunteer contributors
- Despite this, Tarkov.dev is the most reliable and comprehensive Tarkov data source available
While there's no SLA, Tarkov.dev is actively maintained by dedicated community members who work to keep data current. It's the best data source in the Tarkov ecosystem.
What Gets Updated Automatically
The following data syncs from Tarkov.dev:
| Data Type | What Updates |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Task names, descriptions, objectives, prerequisites, level requirements, trader, experience rewards, wiki links |
| Items | Item names, images, dimensions, required quantities for tasks |
| Traders | Trader names, images, available tasks |
| Maps | Map names, task locations |
| Hideout | Station names, levels, upgrade requirements |
How Updates Affect Your Characters
When Tarkov.dev data changes, EFT Kappa automatically reconciles your character progression:
Task Added:
- New tasks appear in your task lists immediately
- They start in "Active" status by default
- No impact on existing progression
Task Removed:
- Task disappears from all views
- Your character's progress for that task is deleted
- Prerequisite chains update automatically
Task Modified:
- Name, level requirement, trader, location updates apply instantly
- Item requirements sync (new items start at 0 progress, removed items delete progress)
- Prerequisites changes update the task graph automatically
Task Objectives Changed:
- Kill count, item quantity, or location changes reflect immediately
- Your existing progress percentage may change if requirements increased/decreased
Timing Considerations
EFT Kappa automatically stays up to date with Tarkov.dev data. If you're actively using the app during a patch, refresh the page to see any new updates.
If Data Seems Incorrect
- Check Tarkov.dev first: Visit Tarkov.dev to see if the data is correct there
- Report to Tarkov.dev: If the data is wrong on Tarkov.dev, report it there (not to EFT Kappa)
- Wait for sync: Once Tarkov.dev fixes the data, EFT Kappa will automatically sync the updates
How can I submit feedback?
Join the Discord server and open a ticket. You can also review the active development board to see if the issue/feedback is already planned.

Does EFT Kappa automatically sync with my progress?
No. All progress is manually tracked. There is no association between your characters on this site and the characters in game.
There is a Task Sync wizard built into the site that will help you quickly update your task progression based on your current in-game state. See Task Sync for more information.
There are tools like Tarkov Monitor which watch log files to automate this for other tools. However, these tools have not been integrated with EFT Kappa
How does the application determine what tasks are a priority?
The application determines quest priority on an individual character basis. There is no concept of a strict path. The application determines your unique progression priority based on the following factors:
- Character level
- Current active tasks
- Tasks blocked by prerequisite tasks
- Experience rewarded for task completion
- The character's selected target task
Can I help with development?

Can I donate or support the site/development in any way?
No. Currently there is no avenue for donations or support at this time.
